Crown flowers were thought to be the favorite flower of Hawaii's last monarch, Queen Liliuokalani. This beautiful lei was made for me by Uncle Charlie, one of the Hawaiian lei sellers at the Honolulu International Airport.
About Jade Moon
I spent two decades in front of the camera as a TV reporter and anchor. It wasn't until I retired from news that I picked up a camera myself, and fell in love. Now, instead of reporting on the frightening, the frustrating and the tragic sides of life, I get to focus in on the beauty that surrounds me in Hawaii. Much of my photography centers on flowers in our tropical island paradise, which are plentiful, vibrant and popping with color. Lucky me.
